Re-encodes pages as JPEG for smaller size

Reduce PDF size — privately in your browser

PDFs balloon when they contain scanned images. This tool re-renders each page as a JPEG at a controlled quality level, typically cutting file size by 50–90% while staying readable.

When to use this

  • Email attachments that exceed the 25 MB Gmail cap
  • Government portals with 2 MB upload limits
  • Uploading to job applications, scholarship forms, or loan docs
  • WhatsApp Web shares (limited to 100 MB)

How to use this tool

  1. Choose your PDF.
  2. Move the quality slider — 70% is a safe default; lower gives smaller files.
  3. Click Compress & Download.

Frequently asked questions

Will text stay selectable?

No — pages are rasterised to JPEG. Use Compress PDF (lossless) for text-heavy PDFs if you need selectable text; for that keep quality ≥ 85%.

Why is my compressed PDF still large?

PDFs with high-resolution scans are the hardest to shrink. Try quality 50% or target-size tools for strict limits.

Is anything uploaded?

No — everything runs client-side.
