Add Watermark to PDF
Add a text watermark to every page — control opacity, size, and angle.
Stamp a watermark across every page of your PDF
A watermark makes ownership and intent unmistakable — CONFIDENTIAL on a shared draft, DRAFT on a version you don't want signed, or a company name across a sample document. This tool places your chosen text diagonally across each page, with full control over how strong or subtle it appears.
Why use a watermark
- Discourage unauthorised redistribution of proposals, contracts, or sample chapters
- Mark prelim versions so reviewers know not to print or sign them
- Brand PDFs you share externally without touching the original layout
- Add a visible “COPY” or “SPECIMEN” tag to records and certificates
Fine-tune the look
Angle controls slope — 45° is the classic diagonal, 0° reads like a header strip. Opacity from 10% (barely visible) up to 80% (assertive) lets the watermark sit on top of content without blocking it. Font size scales with the page so a single setting looks right on A4, Letter, and Legal.
How to use this tool
- Upload PDF.
- Type the watermark text.
- Adjust opacity, size, angle.
- Click Add Watermark & Download.
Frequently asked questions
Is the watermark applied to every page?
Yes — the text is drawn on every page of the PDF. Page count and order are preserved exactly.
Can recipients remove the watermark?
The watermark is drawn into the page content stream. A determined user could edit the PDF in a desktop editor, so flatten the PDF afterwards if you want the mark harder to strip.
Does opacity affect file size?
No — opacity is a rendering instruction, not extra data. Files grow by only a few KB regardless of the opacity you pick.
Will it cover up important text?
Because the watermark is semi-transparent, underlying text stays readable at opacity ≤50%. Use lighter settings for contract pages; go stronger on images.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. Watermarking runs entirely in your browser — your PDF never leaves the device.
