Remove the password from a PDF you already know

Password-protected PDFs keep asking for the password every time you open them — and they refuse to merge, split, print, or be re-shared until the password is removed. This tool takes the PDF and its password, strips the encryption, and gives you back a clean copy that opens with a double-click.

When you actually need this

  • Monthly bank or credit-card statements you want to archive without retyping a password each time
  • Utility bills, payslips, or insurance PDFs saved to a family cloud folder
  • Combining a locked scan with other PDFs in a single submission
  • Printing from a device (office printer, kiosk) that doesn't support password-protected PDFs

What it will not do

This is not a password recovery or crack tool. You need the correct password. If you don't have it, contact the sender or the institution that issued the document — most banks and government portals follow a predictable password format (for example, date of birth + PAN), and we have dedicated guides for those cases.

How to use this tool

  1. Upload the locked PDF.
  2. Enter the password.
  3. Click Unlock & Download.

Frequently asked questions

Can I unlock without the password?

No — this tool requires the correct password. We don't crack PDFs. If you don't know it, reach out to the issuer; many banks and insurers follow a standard format.

Is my password stored anywhere?

No. The password stays in your browser tab and is discarded the moment the page is closed. It is never sent to any server.

Does it handle both owner and user passwords?

User passwords (required to open) are removed when you provide them. Owner passwords that only restrict printing or editing are stripped automatically once the file is readable.

Why does the tool say "wrong password" when I'm sure it's right?

Check for trailing spaces, mixed-case letters, and whether a leading zero is needed. Bank statements often use lowercase PAN combined with DDMMYYYY.

Will the content, fonts, and layout be exactly the same?

Yes — unlocking only removes the encryption layer. Page content, bookmarks, form fields, and metadata are preserved.
